Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Puau te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa is a Māori language medium school based in East Auckland for tamariki aged 0-13 years. In this video, kaiako (teachers) share examples of various tākaro Māori they use as tools to ignite imagination, engage in kori tinana (physical activity) and teach life lessons both inside and outside the classroom. We gain insight into how these tamariki experience the physical, spiritual and social benefits of play with te reo and tikanga as a core focus every day.
