Strong alignment to Sport NZ’s strategic priorities

We used the following criteria to determine strategic alignment:

  • a National Sporting Organisation, Regional Sports Trust or Peak Body in the play/active recreation sector overtly driving outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi, and/or
  • an organisation funded by High Performance Sport NZ as either a podium or aspirational sport.

Demonstration of the necessary capacity and capability to deliver on our collective outcomes

In assessing an organisations’ capability and capacity to deliver outcomes, we considered several elements including:

  • governance and leadership capacity and capability
  • workforce capacity to deliver outcomes
  • ability to influence outcomes throughout their network (that is, from national down to community impact)
  • a positive track record delivering your previous Sport NZ investment outcomes.
