MotorSport New Zealand – sustainability fund

Rally car driving on track through forest

Aligned with the FIA Environmental Strategy and the first environmental programme for motorsport in New Zealand, MotorSport New Zealand’s sustainability fund is supporting projects that balance out the carbon dioxide emissions from motorsport events.

With more inquiries from local governments, councils, and organisations about the environmental impact and carbon emissions of motorsport, the initiative works with member clubs to offset these emissions. They do this by buying carbon credits or taking actions like planting trees.

One example of how they do this is partnering with Trees That Count, a leading environmental organisation dedicated to planting native trees and offsetting carbon. This partnership marks a significant step for the motorsport community in its commitment to environmental sustainability.
