Inclusive practices

Supporting sector organisations to build capability

The latest survey report indicates that many organisations in the sector have no formal diversity, equity and inclusion policy or strategy, at least not one that is known to members of their board or staff.

  • 81% of survey respondents agreed that their organisation puts diversity, equity and inclusion commitments into practice.
  • But only 44% were aware of a formal diversity, equity and inclusion strategy.
  • 23% of board members were not sure if their organisation has a formal diversity, equity and inclusion strategy or policy.

The following resources support organisations to develop their own diversity, equity and inclusion policies and strategies and to share these with their teams:

Get input from young people on your board

Having input from young people (aged 12-24) can improve governance, strategy and decision-making outcomes. This guidance takes you through key considerations to help your board make an informed decision on the best way to hear from young people.
