How sports clubs do it

Designing activities

Learning intention

To understand what the key things sports consider when they design activities to get people involved in sport and stay involved in sport.

Discussion

Many sports are willing to have schools and kura come to their clubs to hear from coaches and players about the activities they use and how they go about designing these activities. During the visit we will get to have-a-go at some of the activities that these sports use. After the visit we will brainstorm what the lessons for us from sports clubs are as we start to design our own activities. And once we have finished our research and designed our activities we will go back to the club as our venue for the Tākarokaro Festival.

Contact your Regional Sports Trust and they will connect you with a sport in your area that can provide this kind of sport experiences for your ākonga.
