Once upon a time €_ I studied psychology. I've forgotten much of what I heard, but I will always remember hearing about the Stanley Milgram experiments. So any story with Milgram's name grabs my attention, especially when it talks about performance, process v outcome, culture, numbers v relationships, etc. And doubly so when the basic premise of the story - 'high performance' cultures lead to low success - challenges my/our current thinking (mental model) about what 'high performance' looks like.
