Māui Hīanga: Te Hui Taonga Tākaro is a national event that gathers experts and practitioners from across Aotearoa to explore tākaro Māori. This unique gathering features wānanga and workshops to deepen understanding and practice of tākaro Māori. The event focuses on succession planning, engaging rangatahi, and fostering collaboration through three key areas: pūkenga-ākonga (Teacher-Student), kotahitanga (Togetherness), and tuku ihotanga (knowledge sharing). Join Recreation Aotearoa to connect, share, and celebrate the philosophies and practices of tākaro within our communities.
