COVID-19 Sector Update
COVID-19 Sector Update
Kia ora koutou,
Thank you for your patience while we have worked with the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) around Level 3, Stage 1 guidance and implications for our sector.
A new alert level table carrying detailed guidance relevant to the Auckland region is now available on our website. As always, if you have any questions, please contact your Partnership Manager or send COVID-19 related queries to this address: Covid19response@sportnz.org.nz.
According to the new health order:
- Friends and whānau can now in reconnect in limited numbers and enjoy recreation within safe limits. At step 1 you can now meet with another household (up to a 10-person maximum) to do an expanded range of outdoor recreation activities, providing physical distancing and other hygiene measures are followed.
- You can visit the beach, park or playground. You can enjoy water-based activities involving sailing boats and motorized boats or other craft like jet skills and scuba diving. Sailing and boating is limited to people from the same household. Fishing is also permitted from a motorboat or vessel.
- Personal trainers and professional coaches can now carry out in person coaching as long as it is outdoors, involves a maximum of 10 people and physical distancing is maintained. That means activities such as tennis, golf or horse-riding coaching can begin again provided it is on an individual or small group basis and physical distancing is maintained.
There are no changes to our sector advice for alert level 2.
Broader guidance outside of sport and recreation can be found at the United Against Covid website.
We understand that interpreting new advice can be challenging and that you may want to test specific examples. Please do send questions to our Covid inbox at Covid19response@sportnz.org.nz should you need additional help or support.
Ngā mihi,
Raelene Castle
